About · Sean Campbell

Ten years building the things
I now get asked about.

Websites, campaigns, quotes and the awkward questions underneath all three. I have sat on both sides of every conversation this business is about.

The longer version

How I got here.

Websites mostly, from WordPress and Shopify through to bespoke builds in PHP and MySQL, for businesses here and abroad, through Campbell Web Works since 2016 and alongside a Cape Town design practice. Along the way I learned the marketing side properly, because clients kept asking whether their spend was working and somebody had to be able to answer.

Which means I have written the quotes I now review, built the sites I now assess, and run the campaigns I now read the numbers on. I know which line items are real, where the margin hides, and what is genuinely difficult as opposed to what is being described as difficult.

The consulting came about because the clients I liked most kept asking questions that had nothing to do with the build in front of us. Whether the agency was doing a good job. Whether the ad spend was working. Whether they should be doing this at all. That turned out to be the more useful conversation, and these days it is most of what I do.

How I work

What you can expect.

You own everything

Findings, documentation, domains, hosting, code and accounts stay in your name. Nothing I produce is held hostage to the relationship continuing.

A defined scope

Named outputs in writing rather than “support as needed”. It’s what makes the fee defensible and the work measurable.

One counterpart

A single person, usually the owner or MD, that I report to and align with. Two masters produce contradictory digital.

Honest availability

Named days, agreed in advance, with a stated response time in between. No pretending to be always on.

Plain language, always

No jargon, and never a reason to feel slow for asking. If I can’t explain it simply, I don’t understand it well enough yet.

An honest no

If the right answer is a different specialist, an in-house hire, or doing nothing this quarter, that’s what you’ll hear, including after we’ve started.

Case Studies

A few projects I have worked on.

GLS Startup Law

An AI legal guide, instant proofreading quotes, behaviour-based HubSpot automation and a personal document library, all built into one platform for founders.

Taste of Cannabis

60-minute local delivery, a B2B trade portal with tax invoices and quotes, and one ID-verified membership that works at every store, kiosk and online.

Güdco

Smart subscriptions, effortless upsells and a B2B early-warning system, built to keep eco-friendly toilet paper arriving right on time.

Zero Debt

Interactive debt tools, campaign-tracked leads routed straight into a custom CRM, and WhatsApp conversations queued to the right advisor.
